North-East Asian Youth: The World We Want Post-2015

UNDP Seoul Policy Centre and ESCAP SRO-ENEA, together with the Korea Network of the UN Global Compact, and Korea University Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS), co-organized a three-day series of debates and consultations on North-East Asian Youth Perspectives on the Post-2015 Global Development Agenda.

The 51 youth participants were graduate students, as well as youths from diverse backgrounds including youths with disabilities, youths with migrant or refugee backgrounds, rural youths, sexual minority youths, youths from single parent households from China, Japan, Mongolia and the Republic of Korea.

The outcome document of the conference "North-East Asian Youth Declaration" was submitted to H.E. Mr. Kim Sung-hwan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea and also a member of the UN Secretary-General's High Level Panel on Post-2015 Development Agenda.

As a follow up to the Youth Conference in January 2013, our co-organizer UNDP Seoul Policy Centre facilitated the participation of one of the participants in the Meeting of the High-Level Panel of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda in Bali, Indonesia, 25-27 March 2013, to share the North-East Asian Youth Declaration with world leaders. This is her story.
